The community has been invited to help name the new eastern suburbs domestic violence shelter project, amid hopes a philanthropic local may help to provide a rental property to house it.
What a fabulous first Steering Committee Meeting! WCS are so excited that there are moves afoot for a shelter in Bayside.
Our CEO Annabelle Daniel recently spoke at the Eastern Suburbs Domestic Violence Prevention Network about WCS’ plans with the local community, led by Steering Committee Chair Christina Curry, to open a shelter in the Bayside area! For women, with or without children, who are homeless or leaving domestic violence.
It was universally acknowledged among service representatives present that there is a desperate need for more crisis accommodation facilities, and it was a great opportunity to discuss the WCS Shelter model.
Our CEO Annabelle Daniel was delighted to be the guest speaker at Emma Husar MP’s International Women’s Day Breakfast in Lindsay at the gorgeous Regatta Centre at Castlereagh.
WCS works with local communities and champions who have seen a need for more crisis accommodation for women, with or without children, who are homeless or leaving domestic violence. WCS provides funding support, intellectual property, project management support and the opportunity for each new shelter to become part of a network, supporting sustainability. We would be excited to work on a project in the Greater Penrith area!
