Donate to the Mornington Peninsula Shelter Appeal to support Women and Children on the Mornington Peninsula

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US CREATE MORE SAFE PLACES FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN ESCAPING DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE.

Without a safe place to go, women and children cannot leave an abusive household.
Help them when it matters most.

HEAR HER STORY

I reached out to the shelter online, sitting with my three young children in a local park after fleeing domestic violence. Avoiding the local police station due to my partner’s family ties, I feared for our safety. Sneaking away while my partner slept, I sought help for us to leave via public transport.

The Shelter arranged transportation and provided essentials upon our arrival. They prioritised post-natal care for me and my newborn, connecting us with medical and support services. Securing childcare subsidies, they ensured I could rest and attend appointments.

After our stay, we received transitional support, including accommodation and furnishings. The shelter’s Children and Young People’s Specialist Worker facilitated ongoing care and services. Opting for continued support, I transitioned to my new home, finding comfort and safety, free from fear.
